The 8600 series is compatible with Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision and LakeVu g3 Ultra chart cards (sold separately). The Garmin g3 Vision card is Garmins premier charting option. Simply select the region of your choice and gain access to enhanced imagery such as high resolution satellite coverage, crystal clear aerial photos and 3D views above and below the water line. Garmin LakeVu g3 Ultra charting is Garmins premier freshwater charting and is offerred in both East and West regions. Dynamic Lake Level data, high resolition satellite imagery and surface and side scan sonar photos are some benefits of the LakeVu Ultra chart cards!
Navigating with the GPSMAP 8622 is smooth. A built in high performance processer enhances chart redraw and video processing. Internally the GPSMAP 8622 has enough power to run virtually all of Garmin’s peripherals like radars, sounders, autopilot etc and share with other compatible plotters seamlessly. You can even commission your autopilot using just the screen of the GPSMAP 8622.
Network connectivity allows for a complete marine setup and integration. Add Additional Displays Radar, Sonar, Marine Cameras (including the Garmin GC200 Marine Camera), FusionLink Compatible Devices – the list goes on. With 4 Wired Ethernet Ports and the optional GMS10 Port Expander the 8622 can connect to multiple devices. Garmin offers a full line of Open Array and Dome Radars as well as multiple sonar modules that can provide CHIRP Sonar, DownVu and SideVu all which are plug and play compatible with the 8600 Series. Add to that NMEA2000, NMEA0183, WiFi Technology, ANT Technology, Video Input/Output, and USB Touch Output the 8622 has endless opportunities.
The GPSMAP 8622 can become the cornerstone for any glass bridge system on your larger boat. It will give you complete control over all of your sounder modules, radars whether open array or dome, cameras whether they are security, Flir, or Virb. You even have the ability to control and stream video from the VIRB X/XE camera. You can now connect up to 4 VIRB X/XE cameras at one time. The screen of the chartplotter can be split to view up to four of the cameras at once, while each camera can be named for easy identification. Not only can you stream video but you actually gain control of each camera and its functions. G-Metrix data can be sent through a NMEA 2000 network and overlaid on the screen using the VIRB X/XE camera. Record video or take snapshots using your VIRB X/XE and with the Garmin Helm App you can save, share and view on the screen of your marine device! The GPSMAP 8622 will even provide control over your Fusion Link entertainment system. For the sailors out there Garmin even includes sailing features include laylines, enhanced wind rose, heading and course-over-ground lines, true wind data fields and tide/current/time slider. Racing features include pre-race guidance, synchronized race timer, virtual starting line, time to burn and layline data fields.
FLIR Camera Support is another convenient feature. All next generation M-series models and new digital models are supported with continuous zoom support and gyro stabilization control. Need to give your MFD a rest? Expanded Sleep Mode will enable the user to turn off the backlight and sonar transmissions and can also place a networked autopilot into standby. This feature will not work if a networked unit is requiring sonar from that unit. The 8600 series will also support the Garmin inReach Mini Satellite Explorer. Simply synch your device and keep in touch with friends and family directly from your chartplotter. *Garmin inReach Mini and Subscription Required.
